Clan Donald Jamboree/Glencoe Remembrance
This is the second of what is to become an annual event at Fort King George Historic Site in Darien, GA. There will be primitive 18th century accommodations. Fireplaces roaring if a stiff nor'easter's howling. Bring your own bed rolls and personal comfort items. For those wishing hotel accommodations, the Hampton Inn (912-437-5558) is located in Darien at I-95 (Exit 49) and Hwy. 251. Presentations will include Glencoe Remembrance/Chief's Birthday, Honorary Cannon Firing, Presentation of the Haggis, etc. The menu for Saturday evening will be roasted oysters and some other items that swim the creek or cross the road. Any favorite dishes are welcome. A hearty breakfast will be planned for Sunday morning. Please RSVP no later than Feb. 6th, 2010.
